Hamilton Rhododendron Gardens
This Nonprofit, Year-round Botanical Garden is located on 33 acres of land at 96 Pavilion Rd, Hiawassee, GA 30546 and is a great place to take a walk. While there are rhododendrons and native azaleas, the gardens also have trails and a variety of native plants. If you are looking for an outdoor adventure, Hamilton Rhododendron Gardens is the perfect spot for that.
This garden is best viewed during the peak bloom season, from late April to late May. It is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and there is a small entrance fee. Visitors can opt to take guided walks through the gardens or take a golf cart tour. There is no admission charge for the gardens, but the garden does accept donations to help preserve the grounds.

Hamilton Gardens at Lake Chatuge is a great place to spend the afternoon. You’ll find many azaleas, trilliums, and shooting stars among other colorful flowers. You’ll also find a number of other plants, including Solomon’s seal and a rare tulip. The gardens are open year-round, but peak bloom time is late April and early May.
Fred and Hazel Hamilton created the beautiful gardens as a gift to their friends. Their love of rhododendrons and azaleas inspired them to make this home in the Atlanta area. In fact, the garden is the largest rhododendron garden in Georgia. There are also two other gardens in the surrounding area. The gardens are located about 2 hours north of Atlanta. The temperatures are typically warm in June and can go as low as 26 deg in January. The driest and wettest months of the year are July and September. The weather in the area is generally hot and humid, so you’ll want to dress accordingly.
